These Terms & Conditions apply to vehicle rentals from A2B Car Rent. By making a booking and renting a vehicle from us, the renter agrees to these terms.
Please read them carefully before your rental.
The renter is responsible for the rental vehicle during the rental period.
All rentals include Basic Insurance at no additional cost. The renter's maximum personal liability for covered damage to the rental vehicle is determined by the insurance package selected.
The available insurance options are:
These liability limits apply to covered damage and are subject to the insurance exclusions outlined in Section 3.
If another party is responsible for the damage, we require appropriate written documentation confirming this.
All accidents, damage or incidents involving the vehicle must be reported to A2B Car Rent as soon as possible.
A2B Car Rent offers three insurance packages to suit different preferences and levels of protection.
Basic Insurance is automatically included in every rental at no additional cost.
In the event of covered damage to the rental vehicle while it is in the renter's possession, the renter's maximum personal liability is 7,000 DKK per damage incident.
Standard Insurance is available for an additional 99 DKK per rental day.
This package reduces the renter's maximum personal liability for covered damage from 7,000 DKK to 1,000 DKK per damage incident.
Premium Insurance is available for an additional 199 DKK per rental day.
This package reduces the renter's maximum personal liability for covered damage from 7,000 DKK to 0 DKK per damage incident.
Premium Insurance provides the highest level of liability reduction offered by A2B Car Rent. However, it does not cover damage or costs excluded under Section 3.
The selected insurance package applies for the full rental period.
Insurance coverage and liability reductions apply only to damage covered under these Terms & Conditions.
Damage or costs excluded from insurance coverage may remain the renter's responsibility, regardless of the insurance package selected.
The insurance packages offered by A2B Car Rent do not cover every situation.
The renter remains responsible for damage or costs resulting from:
Additional charges may apply according to our applicable damage pricing.
Important: Purchasing Standard or Premium Insurance does not remove responsibility for damage or costs excluded from insurance coverage.
Any accident, collision or significant damage must be reported to A2B Car Rent as soon as possible.
Where appropriate, the renter must also contact the police or relevant authorities and provide the information reasonably required to document the incident.
The renter should not accept liability on behalf of A2B Car Rent or enter into an agreement with another party concerning an accident without first contacting us.
The vehicle must be returned at the agreed date and time and in substantially the same condition as when it was collected, allowing for normal use.
All equipment supplied with the vehicle must also be returned, including any documents, tools, keys and additional equipment.
The renter may be charged for missing or damaged equipment.
The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as when it was collected.
If the vehicle is returned without the required amount of fuel, a 799 DKK Fuel Service charge may apply.
Normal cleaning after a rental is expected and does not result in an additional charge.
However, if the vehicle is returned in a condition requiring cleaning beyond normal use, a 1,000 DKK cleaning fee may apply.
This may include excessive dirt, rubbish or other conditions requiring additional cleaning.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all A2B Car Rent vehicles.
If smoking takes place inside the vehicle, a 2,000 DKK charge will apply.
Our rental vehicles are registered for automatic tunnel billing.
For Vágatunnilin and Norðoyatunnilin, the standard charge is:
100 DKK per return trip (both ways).
Alternatively, you can purchase our optional Tunnel Pass for 110 DKK per rental day, which provides unlimited passages through Vágatunnilin and Norðoyatunnilin during your rental.
The Tunnel Pass is not included automatically and must be purchased separately.
Passages through Eysturoyartunnilin and Sandoyartunnilin cost 175 DKK per way.
These tunnels are not included in the Tunnel Pass.
Please do not pay tunnel charges directly to the tunnel operator.
Our vehicles are registered with a tunnel subscription, so passages are automatically recorded and billed to A2B Car Rent.
After your rental, we will calculate the applicable tunnel charges based on the vehicle's registered passages. These charges are then paid directly to A2B Car Rent.
The vehicle must be returned at the date and time stated in the rental agreement.
If you would like to extend your rental, please contact us before the agreed return time.
Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and may result in an additional rental charge.
If the vehicle is returned late without prior agreement, an additional day's rental fee may apply.
We offer free cancellation up to 72 hours before the agreed pick-up time.
If you cancel at least 72 hours before your scheduled pick-up, you will receive a full refund of your rental payment.
Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the agreed pick-up time are not covered by our free cancellation policy.
We do not charge an administration fee simply for requesting a change to your vehicle category or rental period.
Changes are, however, subject to availability.
If the requested change affects the rental price, the booking price may be adjusted accordingly.
We cannot guarantee that another vehicle category or different rental dates will be available.
Only drivers registered and authorised under the rental agreement may drive the vehicle.
The renter is responsible for ensuring that any additional driver complies with the conditions of the rental agreement.
Reservations are made for a vehicle category rather than a guaranteed specific make or model.
A vehicle displayed on our website, such as "Hyundai i10 or similar," is an example of the type of vehicle included in that category.
Where necessary, A2B Car Rent may provide a comparable alternative vehicle.
If the vehicle develops a mechanical problem or becomes unsafe to drive, contact A2B Car Rent as soon as possible.
We will assist you in determining the appropriate next step.
Do not arrange repairs, replacement parts or towing on behalf of A2B Car Rent without our approval, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety.
Towing or recovery resulting from prohibited or inappropriate use of the vehicle may be charged to the renter.
The renter must use the vehicle responsibly and take reasonable care of it throughout the rental period.
The vehicle must not be used:
Damage or costs resulting from prohibited use may not be covered by the renter's selected insurance.
The renter is responsible for charges incurred through the use of the vehicle during the rental period, including applicable tunnel charges.
Where A2B Car Rent receives a charge relating to the renter's use of the vehicle, we may request reimbursement from the renter.
A2B Car Rent is not responsible for personal belongings left, lost or stolen from the rental vehicle, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
Please check the vehicle carefully for your belongings when returning it.
If you experience an accident, breakdown, delay or other problem during your rental, please contact us as soon as possible.
